Also hoping to have a date for the opening.
Hoping for a cool event for the grand opening!!
They opened on 28th March and I had to check it out yesterday, they carry only 3 brands so far and are waiting for Alfred Sargent and Crockett & Jones. Perfect location, very friendly owner who is a shoe lover and very knowledgeable.
I was impressed that they are competitively priced, G&G ready to wear for 1150$CAD (on par with Leffot but Canada charges 18% import duty for shoes and Bespoke England website is 615£ => 955$CAD) that I bought a pair of G&G. I had not planned it but price was reasonable and the tassel loafer is the only shoe missing in my closet.
This is a lesson to not window shop, I had no intention to buy but the colour and style was exactly what I've been pondering for the last 2 years.
Do I need it? No. Do I love it? Yes. And I'll get a sticker shop when the credit card bill arrives.
This is a dangerous place. I walked in there on Tuesday for the first time, quite blissfully unaware that I had a desperate need for a pair of midnight blue Carmina wholecuts in shell.
I showed great restraint by not making an impulse buy, but the damned shoes haunted me all night. So I popped back up at lunch and made them mine>
Man, Toronto needed a place like this in the worst way. Very strong selection of G&G, St. Crispin and Carmina, and it's only going to get better as other brands roll in (I'm particularly keen to check out Alfred Sargent and Crockett & Jones). Anyway, I'll post up more pics from the shop visit later this evening.
