1) Any taxes / duties when ordering from the website?
2) What is the shrinkage like on the shirts?

My experience, both with oxford cloth:
1) No
2) Negligible to non existent

Those who own the chambray shirt, what is the collar point length on it? It looks kind of short on pictures.
thanks!

it's definitely shorter than the OCBD. I tried it on in store. This was the vintage one.

Fortune smiled upon me and was able to snag some Tokyo Slims off the B/S. Lovin dat beefy collar roll.

But seriously, while the sleeves are a hair short at 16/35, these feel like the best constructed OCBDs I've ever handled. Fabric is amazing, buttons are great, and it just feels good.

This month's GQ magazine had a small except on Kamakura shirts

I will pick a dozen up this year! starting in Feb ^^ happy.gif

Time for the Kamakura roulette

edit:

I done it guys! Just placed an order:

  1. Tokyo Slim Fit 41 - 89 OCBD
  2. NY Slim Fit 40 - 90 Pinpoint OCBD

The classic cuts in NY seem it may fit better regarding the neck to sleeve ratio but I think the body would be too full. Now the wait begins!

I'm usually a 15.5 neck and in my current shirts I find 34" sleeves a tad short. So, here is to hoping the 89 or 90 will work (considering shrinkage, too).

That collar looks superb by the way @El Argentino...hoping to achieve the same!

Neither shirt is really working out ugh frown.gif

I have a TS 16-35 and NYS 15.75-35.5 for sale if anyone would like to buy at cost w/ free domestic shipping. Otherwise, what is the best method to mail it back? USPS?

Fwiw the NYS fit a lot better but need to size down...

What's your issue with each one? - I seem to recall us being about the same size, generally.

What color are they?

^Both are blue, for CBD

Body is way too full

Sleeve and shoulder seem fine

Neck was also wide.

Going to reorder and try 15.3-34.3 is TS and Going to ignore the approx. body measurements provided on the site.

I am usually a small in shirts or 38/40 jacket EU

May be interested in TS. I'll PM you later for details unless someone else gets it first. Busy right now

I also want to add as it's worth noting that it doesn't seem these slim fit shirts taper much so if you have a large drop I don't know kamakura is the best option. Both the Tokyo slim fit and New York slim fit straight in the body. I measured one of them and the chest to waist was about 22", no difference.

Granted it seems I ordered the wrong size now...will most likely get the 15 1/3-34 1/3 as someone suggested earlier in the thread...

Pretty easy to take them in at the waist... Cheaper than sending them back I would have thought...
