Are the Vintage Ivy shirt sleeve really as short as the measures make it appear and compared to the traditional styles offered (e.g. Tokyo Slim Fit)? Looks like I missed out on the plain navy and only black watch is left..

I have one of each, and the fit is very similar to me. Maybe slightly shorter on the Ivy.

I have the blackwatch from last year. It's nice.

Love the Vintage Ivy line. (It's the detail, man. They got it right). My only beef is the chest specs are too narrow for me -- on all the models.

I have the same Vintage Ivy Chambray
In Tokyo L and New York M

Both are similar, NY has a narrow waist and longer sleeves (very similar to old BB ESF 15,5/34) Tokyo has much shorter sleeves which became very short after washes and a fuller waist (fits similar to RL Rugby M and slightly smaller than PRL Custom Fit M)
Hope this helps

I think short sleeves would bother me, so, I decided to order both the black watch and navy directly from the NY store in Vintage Ivy NY medium. Unless the body is enormous I think it will be fine. Thanks again guys.

I don't usually throw the shirts in the dryer but may do so the first wash as needed. I can at least try to shrink the shirt a little, cannot add more fabric on anything that is too short/tight. Hopefully that 2% shrinkage has some truth as stated online.

Hi Gents can anyone provide measurements of sleeve length from shoulder to sleeve end for Tokyo slim fit in 37 collar. My current best fitting shits are 64cm . The website is suggesting me to size to a 38-85. Which is way too big on collar and every where else.

my 38-85 tokyo slims have 61cm sleeves (from top of shoulder seam) post shrinkage, which is probably about a cm if that helps

Thanks Mate. Quite short actually . I have long arms and need 64.5cm pre shrinkage (63 min post) on a 37 collar.

I emailed asking about the fit of the Napoli shirt. If I get a response I will post here!
got a response from their shop on Napoli to go for size 40
currently a perfect fit on Tokyo slim 40-84, but their model on the pic with 185 cm with 75 kg is wearing a 39 ??

I'm 188cm and about 75kg and wear a NY Slim in 39-90. Obviously they are suggesting a shirt that will accommodate your neck, although sleeves will be a bit long for you perhaps. If you won't be wearing it with a tie then you can size down in the neck as long as the chest and waist still fit well.

Beautiful shirts....thanks for the info Eustace. Trust the Japanese for attributes of perfection......

every time I get a box from Kamakura it's in terrible shape, although the shirt itself is always fine

Anyway, first impressions on the Napoli dress shirt are really good, with some great details (super thick buttons, to the point where I initially struggled to close one of the cuffs, gussets are a nice touch), and a very comfortable broadcloth fabric. Went with a 39, based on the fact that I normally wear a Tokyo Slim Fit 39-87, and the fit is pretty much spot on, with a bit less fabric in the arm area which was always one of my minor quibble for my regular $79 shirts. Gonna see how the shirt deals with washing, though I always wash on cold and air dry, so I don't expect surprises.

I seem to recall Kamakura Shirts posting about their casual version of this cut on Instagram a few weeks ago, but I couldn't find them online (at least not the US version). Did those sell out already, or did they not even make it to the website?

How's the collar on the Napoli shirt?

somewhere in the nebulous region between the spread and the cutaway, I really like it
