I have done that at one of their oxford shirts and many from other makers. It usually no big deal if you are careful and use a proper seam ripper. The only problems I've had were at coarser chambray shirts, especially when garment washed. At closer inspection you'll notice traces of the pockets. I would be careful when trying this on the leno cloth, the weave is quite complex and you'll have a hard time finding the thread of the seam. I've ordered a navy leno shirt myself and I'll see.

Does anyone know which style fit (Tokyo Slim or NY Slim) would best resemble a Brooks Brothers Extra Slim?

Thanks!

I only have the Tokyo Slim, but they're a bit slimmer than BB ESF/Milano.

I wear BB Extra Slim fit shirts in size 15.5-35 and Kamakura NY Slim in size 39-90.

Anyone have this in L? http://www.kamakurashirts.net/shop/g/gKF100021S/

I want it. I'm hoping it'll be made again. L seems like the size for me.

If anyone has it, the main concern I have is the sleeve length...

I'd also be tempted to call the NY store and see if they have it and if so if they could ship it.

I snagged the size chart for this shirt off of the Japanese site. Maybe this will help. Dimensions in cm

Size Length Sleeve length Chest waist circumference neck
L      76        87.5                120     104                          42.8

Do the shirts slim up in the waist at all post washing (and possibly machine drying)?  Mine blouses too much out the box, dunno I can expect some significant slimming or I need to see a new brand or tailor.

A shirt will not see significant shrinking at the waist, due to the way that shirts are assembled. The shrinkage is more likely to be in the length of the sleeves, body and neck.

Which size and cut of Kamakura shirt did you buy? There may be a slimmer version available. Do you have a photo of the blousing, or maybe a photo of how you want your shirt to fit?

I think it really depends on the fabric. My OCBD definitely shrunk. Fan of the company, but the fit is not there for me.

Chest/waist ratio doesn't work for me. My ratio is not to drastic either. 38" chest and 33" waist measured.

39x83 and I'm a pretty standard small for OTR stuff, other than neck size for shirts.  Tokyo slim fit twill shirt.  Unfortunately no photos.

Maybe I want a fit akin to this (Kamakura IG)?  I can't tell exactly how much excess fabric he has there, but it looks relatively slim.

I really want a navy oxford, but they only have in S/M/L sizing and not the numerical kind. @fieldofdreams, what size would you wear in tokyo? I remember us being pretty close in the past, with me being slightly smaller.
