G & G and EG shoes on sale at Edwards of Manchester - Page 23

I ordered from them once, a pair of G & G, which they claimed was in stock. They took the money at once, and then announced that the delivery time was unfortunately up to six months. I was irritated, as they initially claimed that the shoe was in stock, and canceled my order. That meant that I lost almost 40 £ in foreign exchange loss.

I will never ever order from them again.

IIRC, some members here even got MTO Dover made.  Imagine Dover, not to mention MTO, at a discount.  Let's hope EOM and EG can sort out their differences and we can continue to enjoy a good price for these shoes, especially for those of us with tiny feet. If only Skoak would stock small sizes.

The only issue I have with EOM is the lame excuse given when asked.  I understand that they are a small outfit but I think they should be a bit more forthcoming.  I'll order from them again but I'll be more careful.

In another subject, can anybody help with suggestions on a good and reasonably priced 3rd party trees for 888?  Thanks.

I contacted Edward Green via email and the following was what the store manager relayed back to me:

"Edwards Of Manchester is no longer an authorised seller of Edward Green shoes, we stopped supplying them from the beginning of this year 2013."

It seems reasonable to assume if they were temporarily embargoed from sales then the email would have said so.

So what do I do?

If they can't get shoes from EG how are they going to deliver my shoes?

As long as I am guaranteed to get an undamaged pair of shoes at some point, I'm happy. It just sounds like the company is about to go under.

Would you rather we bury our heads in the sand and not state facts?

Manufacturers LOVE us. SF'ers will rat your ass out in a heartbeat.

If a company is about to go broke, yet continues to trade, it is against the law. People that are blowing the whistle should be commended, not condemned.

The ratting SG is referring to is not disclosing the unshipped shoes, it is disclosing the discounted shoes.

I do not think EoM is "about to go broke" and I am sorry to hear about your experience has been negative. My experience has been generally positive.

may be they are in talks with EG to get authorised dealer tag again stirpot.gif and they expect that to be finalised soon.

Generally when your supplier cuts you off, and you can't supply products to a consumer, the business is nullified.

Then again, they do sell a multitude of other brands, so maybe it is only a small component of their business.

You know guys I mentioned this already but Edward Green can drive you nuts. I ordered MTO shoes from EG through Edward of Manchester back in the January of this year. I specifically stated that I want Acorn calf color. Guess what the shoes were delivered to me this summer but in Edwardian Antique calf. According to Edward Green "it's the same basic color which can be made lighter or darker depending how you polish shoes". This my friend is maddening I mean seriously why do you announce that you have two different colors and then one I ask for one color you deliver me the other?
It seems to me that Edward Green takes a lot of freedom in conducting its business with consumers and retailers. I found Mark from EoM extremely helpful and professional. Edward Green on the other hand has some operational issues and communication issues. I did receive my shoes from Sale in January of 2013 and a lot oh other SF members did too. I just do not buy that story that EG has stopped supplying EoM so my advice is to be patient or if you have order with EoM try to exchange it for sometime from G&G that's what I did.

I'm happy to wait until the New Year for my shoes to be shipped, as long as they are eventually shipped. It just sounds like I'll never get my shoes, from what people have been saying.

Edit: Just read your post more carefully.

I'm in contact with the head of brand and business development at EG and can ask him to confirm this. Just seems like this could spiral out of control with rumors otherwise.

Cheers, Dieworkwear, eager to find out if I should still wait for my orders.
