Gentleman, am I making a mistake with this combo? Going for a more causal look.

Galway: Chestnut Antique with Rosewood Country Calf shaft, Dainite Sole,202 last.

You could always skip the car repairs and walk everywhere in your new shoes.

I'm considering something similar to yours too Alan, but instead on an 888 last. Either:

 

1) Galway: Chestnut Antique with Rosewood Country Calf shaft, Dainite Sole,888 last

2) Galway: Burnt Pine Antique with Chocolate nubuck shaft, Dainite Sole,888 last

 

My main concerns is to have something versatile with suits, chinos and denim and also to have something to can show off EG's excellent antiquing/finishing. I'm stuck in the same spot and any suggestions would be great!

Thanks for your input ipreferpie.  I plan to wear them with chinos and denim, and the 202 should fit the comfort that I am looking for.  Yes, we have some much freedom in our hands! But the lighter hue should be adequate for what we have in mind.  Burnt Pine Antique with Chocolate nubuck shaft should be nice too.  

 

How long does it take to get a reply from Edwards of Manchester? I am still waiting for their reply to my order...

Hey folks who did an MTO with EoM, need to check whether you were issued an official invoice stating your MTO order.

Or were you, like me, requested to complete the transaction with gift vouchers and only received the order invoice for gift vouchers?

Hey, I just got in the market for some high end business shoes. I want to get a pair of EG Berkley, and while researching EG just now came across this thread. Is it very rare to find a seller offer a 20% off EG (+stack with VAT exemption)? I am a little disappointed now that I missed out (code does not work as of writing) just wondering if something like this happens a few times a year or not?

I received some correspondence and my CC was charged. Or so my automatic alerts say. If I missed out, then I missed out. I thought it might be TGTBT.

Yea, that is pretty rare that a retailer will put everything EG on sale. That is not to say, however, that there are not generally EG's on sale. You might want to contact Sky Valet (Washington DC)- someone recently said they had a lot of models on sale, but that is not reflected online. I would keep following these message boards and the Buy, Sell, Trade section. Leffot (NYC) has a yearly sale in July and Leather Soul (Hawaii and LA) is having theirs now. If you have some patience you'll find what you are looking for at a discount (or something similar).

I am the original OP and I am not sure what the problem is but I don't seem able to post or receive messages.

I would be curious to know the 'conversion rate' - how many e-mails they received and how many actual Sales were made. Was it the typical B&S type, send a bunch of tire kicking e-mails and then drop off the radar....?
