Seriously, that coat looks ridiculous. As if the surplus army drab cloth weren't enough, it has those stupid metal buttons and epaulets to seal the deal.

Well, from the front, its authentic. its a true great coat. we can't see the back.

Now, lets change the cloth, remove the epaulettes and change the buttons.

How does it look now, figuratively speaking?

Well yes, but a true greatcoat is a ridiculous coat to wear unless you're in the military.

It also doesn't help that Wooster is, like, the biggest #menswear-douchebag on the planet.

Yeah fellas, if you want to see what dopey means by "dress like a blogger," this guy is a prime example.

Too soon.

I am just grateful someone is paying attention.

FWIW, as Derek has pointed out before, he doesn't dress like a blogger. Bloggers dress like him. I still am not really a particular admirer of his style in general, nor this coat in particular, but give the man his due.

Woo may be the anti-Foo. Zero Fucks Given.

it looks like a military surplus coat because it probably is a military surplus coat.

That is streetwear. That is half the point.

I don't think there's all that much difference between the two.

They both have quirky and - I imagine in Wooster's case as well - very firmly held views on what looks good. They both value complexity in outfits and have a thing for garish oversized details. Each is likewise inspired by traditional American steez.

The results are different because one sells clothing and the other sells companies but I think the processes and sensibilities are eerily similar.

Interesting perspective. I was thinking more of the results, but you make a good point.

Is there a photo of Foo's coat with the collar flipped-up, or has the thread moved on?
