The other detail changes either make the shirt fit me better or make the shirt a little more versatile.

Except changing the placket. Which didn't change the fit. And made it worse - in all situations.

Not sure if this has been posed, so don't mind me: Foo, why do you get such large turn-ups on your trousers? You don't think they look a little out of proportion?

I guess I'm endeared to chunky detailing. Ask me tomorrow and I'll have a different answer.

The first is the actual coat. The second is with the bottom row of buttons eliminated. The third shows three rows of buttons shifted downward as you suggest.

Like the way it is, the middle is also not bad

don't like the third one at all for the coat

I read this entire thread. Generally, I agree with Dieworkwear and Despos. I suppose that is no surprise to anyone.

This thread does make me very, very, happy that Parker suggested that this subforum be renamed "classic menswear", and that I took this advice (it took me less time that it did to type out this phrase), and thus apparently created some language that could spawn this thread.

I like mine better. His looks like military surplus.

His lapels are bigger. You gonna let him get away with that?

I'm actually not sure they are. His are flapping wide open. I think I can take 'em.

those lapels are not wide enough, they should reach past his arms.

True. If they were as wide as they should be, he would be in flight.

Fooster lapels : Wooster lapels as Ikea : Knoll

You can fix this but you better get Mariano on the phone ASAP.
