Bradford,
Do you know the name of the airport? That sounds very interesting.
It wasn't Orchard Field was it?

I would be hard pressed to name a favorite - probrably emirates, jet (domestic India), Thai, Singapore and Lufthansa are my favorites - I have flown more on LH than any other carrier - probrably more than 2 million miles, give or take. KLM has the cutest uniforms, in my opinion - I love taht shade of blue. I flew on an austrian airline a few times, not austrian, but I can't remember the name, where the stews worse tight jeans and tee shirts.

worst - bangladesh. second worst aeroflot.

Trotter,
Jet Airways has announced they will be flying to Newark or one of the NYC area airports, they won't be that far from you.

The two Korean airlines (Korean Air and Asiana) have the strictest requirements in regards to age. I believe if you're over 24, you can no longer apply. A cousin of mine applied for a stewardess job. Over 10,000 applicants for 100 positions. She made it to the cut of 400 but couldn't make it at the end.

She said they have a swim test (in case of over water crash) and they also size you up when you're wearing a bathing suit. It's no joke here.

Zach, I don't think I've ever seen that. Are you sure she wasn't offering other 'services?' For pure obscurity and pretty damn good piloting under adverse conditions, I liked Druk Air.

that will be intersting. what they do real well is luxury on short flights - they can get hot towels, cold towels meal and 2 drink services in on a one hour flight. all by pretty smilling girls in tight skirts, at about 20% more expensive than their cheapest competitor. I am interested in seeing how that translates to long haul flights.

Thailand budget carrier Nok Air did a reality show to find flight attendants.

It was called NokHunt.

Try saying that fast.....

They were very proud to serve alcohol for free on international flights. Kuwait is on my **** list because their flights are dry. The Caribbean airlines make good use of prop planes, which I had never used in a civilian context before. Quite an experience.

Tiger,
Kuwait Airways service is completely terrible from what I have heard, and that excludes the alcohol. Fly Emirates if you need to get to the middle east.

From my experience the best ones are:

Emirates
Virgin
Singapore
Cathay

the worst ones are American (Please explain to me why most American stewardesses are around 40-50 years old?):

United
Southwest

I'd have to say Asiana has the prettiest girls though...and on top of being lookers, they are in uniforms...damn!...Some of the Chinese airlines are getting better and better in terms of pretty girls though!

The "reason" that airlines use for height requirements is because they have to be able to reach the storage bins and levers etc.
