Dress Shirt - Impact of Improperly Fitting Component on Overall Fit

I have been wondering some time about the impact of a component of a dress shirt on the overall fit. For instance, if the yoke of a dress shirt is 1 inch too small, but all other measurements are, theoretically, perfect, could this cause the wearer to perhaps feel as if the armhole is too small, etc. This might be a useful exercise for people doing online MTM shirts, because if measurements actually do impact each other (and perhaps significantly), it is all the more important to discover the root of an improperly fitting shirt.

It would be interesting to hear the opinions of others on this...I will provide my opinion with limited knowledge and hopefully some more knowledgeable people could chime in. Everything I post is just my skepticism...and I've only done it for the "too small" scenario (since the opposite would hold true for a "too big").

Neck
Tight fitting when buttoned up, but otherwise no impact.

Chest
Might cause the wearer to mistake tightness for an armhole too small, or a waist measurement too small. Enlarging one of these measurements would not fix the problem, or might slightly fix the problem.

Yoke
Might cause the wearer to mistake a problem with sleeve pitch, or an armhole problem. Might also result in sleeves too short.

Don't let it die laugh.gif Also too narrow shoulders can cause the wearer to feel as if the sleeves are short!

Too wide shoulders can make the shirt constricting under the armpit when you move your arms forward.
