Skyfall = Trendy suits for the skinny man. Quantum of Solace = Timeless suits for the average man.

Thread Starter

I finally had a chance to watch Skyfall. There were things about the suits that I didn't find pleasing when paired with Daniel Craig.

The suits seemed to be too tight and too trendy (likely to be out of style in a year or two).

Quantum of Solace definitely had the best suits for Daniel Craig, and they won't go out of style.

A skinny guy that is into the coolest trends will definitely pair well with the Skyfall suits. The average man who wants a suit to always be in style would be better getting suits found in Quantum of Solace.

That said, I found Skyfall to be a much better film overall.

A tall and skinny man would not look good in a "Quantum of Solace" type suit?

Can't believe how "trendy" suits are getting these days. Saw someone wearing a suit with the jacket only going down to just below his waist. Unbelievably short! Don't know how someone can be taken seriously wearing that type of suit for work....maybe he got changed into that suit after work so it's not as bad.....but still pretty bad though.

My thoughts exactly, both re. the suits and the film overall. Just that the QoS suits probably suit any man better than this Skyfall hipster wardrobe.

There was a huge long thread recently about the suits in Skyfall, you should check it out. Definitely some... heated conversations.

FWIW, I agree that the suits in Skyfall were terrible. Not only were they super slim and trendy, which I think will date the movie, but they didn't even fit--huge collar gaps, massive pulling at the waist... They really looked quite awful. If I were Tom Ford, I'd be pretty disappointed that my name was attached to them.

Judging by Daniel Craig's recent appearances in real life on red carpets etc it seems like he is either clueless himself about good fitting suits, or is being very poorly advised/very well paid by his cronies at Tom Ford. For a man making a name for himself as a character synonymous with black tie, his black tie rig at the Golden Globes was a huge fail in the same way many of the Skyfall suits were.

Yeah, I agree with this. It's very disappointing. He always looks like shit.

And yet he can turn himself out so well in a casual ensemble, so I'm not sure what is going on.

QoS: Yeah, anyone can wear this.

Skyfall: You mad bro'?
