Jacket lining suggestions

Hey everyone, I'm getting a pale grey suit (wool, for work) made for spring. I was about to finish up when I realized that I wanted a fun lining but I couldn't find any threads on the topic, nor any very good sources after a few searches.

I'm thinking a little crazy, but not too much so. Print would be cool, bright colors for sure (it's spring!). Anyone have suggestions?

Sorry for not being specifc enough. Either will actually do, but bonus points for an actual source, because my tailor will line with whatever I give him. The only stuff he had on hand for samples were demure solids and a few boring brights.

Against LBD's linings or against "fun" linings regardless of provenance? If the former, care to elaborate on who puts out good linings?

It sure sounds like he's against the whole idea since you'll be using it for work. I'd agree.

I don't understand. Who's really going to see the lining? I have a suit with a purple lining that I wear to work and about the only people who have seen it, are my wife and my tailor.

LBD linings are good

But the lining of a business suit shouldn't be fun, at least not for a grown man.

You actually see the lining of a suit surprisingly often (at least when it's worn by someone still moving). You just don't notice because, thankfully, they're usually black or dark blue.

For casual stuff, do whatever you like - Hermes orange on a bright tweed, baby blue on a khaki cotton suit, etc. But if you'll potentially wear this in a professional setting that you care about, play it pretty straight with the suit.

Disagree, coloured linings are common place in the work environment and well accepted, fun linings not so far behind.

Not so far behind is not where you want to be.

Especially not in cases where it's easily avoidable.
