Can't figure out who made them or if they're worth $500 (I have gift cards that will bring down the price). Are they as nice as my G&Gs? They look to have a similar retail price.

Love 'em. Made by Lattanzi?

My assumption as well, especially given the shape.

How would you compare them to G&G?

I would not spend $500 on a Brioni, Ralph Lauren or any other "designer" that was not a true shoe manufacturer. Better value for the same or less money can be had from AE, Alden or others. Just my opinion.

I agree with Twotone. Get a pair of Aldens if you're going to spend $500.

Aren't most designer shoes (RLPL, RL, Kiton, etc) essentially relabeled something else (e&g, c&jc etc?) Are you just saying you pay more for the brioni labeled (insert shoemaker)?

RLPL is edward green and G&G if I'm not mistaken. Kiton does it in house but they bought over several small firms to form their shoemaking division and their quality is up there with the best of them.

Im not really sure if its by Lattanzi and Brioni uses other makers besides Lattanzi, and especially since the retail was only like $1200 i would say they were not Lattanzi

You should probably do a little research before bashing on "designer" brand shoes. Sure most of them are crap but in the case of Brioni and Ralph Lauren they utilize makers that blow AE and Alden out of the water.

I don't think the shoes are made by Lattanzi. The price point is too low even for Lattanzi diffusion lines like Zintala or Gerardo Fosati. The latter retail for around $1250-1350, and I would expect the Brioni label would command another $100-200 premium. FWIW, I've never encountered a Lattanzi made shoe with a rubber inset. The best way to confirm the provenance of a potential Lattanzi shoe is to inspect the sock liner. Lattanzi uses a distinctive Italian themed strip.

What happens when Ralph sells Allen Edmonds for Ralph Lauren?
