Why don't you add a gold safety pin just to be safe?

how did you know?

I think I was ranting to you about cashmere hoodies, and then you told me you had one. That was kind of embarassing.

It is probably more embarrassing for me

Excuse me but did you and Manton both go to a school that specialized in teaching its students to be rude and disrespectful? This might just be a message board to you but from my perspective it is one that is based on gentlemen's principals and a code of professionalism. Even when I was in public school in South Philly I didn't encounter such unmannerly and abrasive conduct as you have just exhibited.

Yes, they're the ones who told you not to eat the paste.

Look, everyone here knows the baseline Manton. The affected Manton of the last two posts on what and what not to wear is just that, an affect, which most of the longer standing members appreciate and enjoy.

You have somehow become, and doggedly continued as, the straight man.

So, to answer one of your next questions, let me tell you that

OK, you're a cab.

While I realize this is the internet I just don't see why people just can't stick to being themselves.

I gotta hand it to you. A brilliant line, worthy of Newhart, the patron saint of straight men.

That would indeed be a fine addition to OBTC, but the shirt collar in question is too spread. But everyone should make a note to try that.

You will observe the following:

(1) The base color for the suit is black.

(2) The suit has a wide white pinstripe.

(3) Observe the dark red pocket square'

(4) Observe that it is being worn with monkstraps.

(5) The tie is woven and it is orange and perfectly dimpled.

OBTC or not?
Well, but the shirt is clearly CBD, so minus two. You could mix more patterns. Minus another two. But the rest is quite strong. B++

True, to elevate this ensemble to Bombastically Bold Tailored Clothing (BBTC), a printed silk square would be required. A bordered linen square would also give it a lift, though probably not all the way to BBTC. I held back because I didn't want to shock anyone.

I've got the OCBDs. I've got the repp ties. I've got the Alden shells in #8. I've got plenty of gray flannel. But what I don't have is a pair of flat front trousers or an undarted jacket.

Still, if someone wants to volunteer a pic, we can make a go of it. But please, PM me first. No point in wasting everyone's time by getting it wrong. Tell me what you have, and I'll tell you what to wear.
