this is basically turning into a copy of the sufu thread. i really liked this sasquatchfabrix one that someone posted there:

i recently bought a helmut lang one from 1996 (not bondage) but it was kind of fucked up when i got it. fortunately it was fixable so it looks really nice now. just gotta get a slight pocket tear that i missed repaired. might post pics but i think must people know what i'm talking about. really love it.

For me, the Helmut ones were the grail for MA-1s. They were an interesting balance between traditional and modern aesthetics, since they retained the some of the volume and short cut of the original MA-1 pattern, but added signature HL signatures like the inner straps so you could hang the jacket on your back like a backpack

I don't see it too often, but traditional MA-1s and other repro bomber jackets generally use double knit ribbing on the cuffs, where the top of the cuff has a looser gauge knit and the bottom has a tighter knit. It's one of those small details that gets overlooked, probably because it's difficult/expensive to source, which is a shame because it looks really nice on these type of jackets.

Was HL the only make of a MA-1 in white/cream as posted in OP?

FAIK it's the only decent looking one in cream. I picked up the Uniqlo MA-1 because they had a cream color.. reminded me of HL, and pretty much the closest thing I could get to it. But ended up returning it anyway because it was too **** to keep for $60. Might get it when it goes on sale.

The one that phrost posted is dope. Anyone know what season it was from?
