Trolling the Stern Show

JB Smoove was on the other day. What a great guest.

Tracy Morgan was also on, the guy is fascinating.

I haven't listened to Stern since he left terrestrial radio, although I've caught a few clips on youtube. When you get past the shows so-called issues (gross, misogyny, toilet humor blah blah blah), you see that Stern has an incredible talent to really get the most out of his guests. He just gets the best out of people, not just the guests but even his staff. His questioning technique and storytelling are really just top notch. You regularly see people just kill on his show and then you see them elsewhere and its like, hey, this guy was a lot funnier on stern. So many awful copycats of him over the years too, that has diluted his whole 'shock-jock" genre.

^^ Ya, that's so true.

I wish they would stop all those stupid bits with the porn stars and sex talk, it's rote. One exception was the 'worlds dumbest porn star' bit. Those 3 girls were an incredible window on how hot girls are insulated from the world.

The guy does an amazing interview. His interview with Benicio Del Torro was brilliant.

Love JB Smoove.

if robin would die....i might listen.

until that day....no thanks.

That's surprising. I find Robin's news segment to consistently be the funniest segment on the show. Provides tremendous fodder for the guests or Howard. Gilbert Gottfried has pretty much made a career from the material he's done during Robin's news. Anyway, shows like Stern are always going to be polarizing.

Robin is worthless, but Stern is still great day in and out.

They need the 3rd seat filled. Its a bit dry sometimes. I heard Jim Jefferies on Jay Mohr's podcast the other day, guy tells a brilliant story. He'd be great in that seat.

The one that turns my stomach is that mumble-muffin JD.

Used to listen to Stern when he was on in the mornings in Seattle about 6 or 7 years ago. Then a couple of years ago we bought a new car with Sirius/XM and was jacked to get to listen to him again....until I learned his channels were above and beyond the "Everything" package. Sorry Stern, you ain't worth another $5/month.

My car came with Sirius, I've never gotten a bill or paid a dime. I have no idea why. Its been a number of years now. Every so often I think to myself that it will cutoff one day but it never has. In fact, I had the car like 5 months until I actually clicked into SAT accidentally and there it worked.

Anyway, $5 extra - I had no idea. That's fucking lame. And they still advertise.

Speaking of which, ESPN radio is 50% content and 50% commercials. FFS its un-listenable. Oh, and MSNBC - always nice to have the kids in the car with you and an "Ashley Madison" commercial comes on. Nice work on the demographics folks.

I wish stern would stop with those idiot porn stars on the show all the time. What's titillating about a chick you can watch fuck on the internet anytime you want?

Joel McHale was a cool interview. Can you believe what he earns on a stand up gig? WTF, these guys are rolling in it.
