summer, I've got a penhaligon's small bottle, I forget what it's called tho, it's almost lemony, but it's very nice...

Most of the fragrances I've liked so far strike me as too spicy and dark for summer wear, eg: Dior Homme, the YSLs, the Guccis, Armani Attitude. Guess Man is the only scent I consider summery that I would pay money for.

Can you recommend some mainstream scents that are especially clean and sharp?

YSL live jazz, no doubt about it. Almost mintily clean topnotes, something bordering on ginger echoing in there, with a soft ambergris drydown.

Anyone wearing the new CdG? I was digging the Guerilla scents last year.

I strongly second the recommendation for Creed - Green Valley. Love it. For me this is exclusively a summer fragrance due to the poor longevity on my skin. Unless I'm in something as humid as summer in Minnesota the stuff just doesn't last on me.

Some other summer fragrances I enjoy:

Creed - Original Vetiver (also exclusively summer for longevity reasons... and tragically has something I'm allergic to)

Penhaligon's - English Fern

Creed's Virgin Island Water is right up there.

summer? i usually use kenzo leaupar just for a change. it mixes well with sweat so it's not a problem for summer. when i was in elementary school i remember cool water and polo sport were very popular with the kids and that it stunk big time after gym class!

Its a little feminine, for my taste but I can't imagine a more summer like scent.

It's like they took the Club Tropicana Wham video and put it in a bottle

LOL! I do dig it, but it hardly seems a "Creed". Their latter-day releases, since the youngin took over, have all been pretty mall-y, IMO

Any thoughts on Allesandro Dell' Acqua?

I told myself to swear off Acquas and citrus scents for a while, but I just moved to the tropics and it seemed like a good deal for 1.5 oz at $15.
