I have issues 1-50 of fruits but they're in PDF, not too sure how to post in this thread or if it is legal (but then we post fashion editorials so I figure as long as it isn't the whole mag...).

Fuuma, if you'd like I can give you a location to upload them too and then convert the sections you want to an image format suitable for posting here.

Fashion Zeitgeist

Although it is appealing to think that fashion turns away from conventions, is this really the case? Or are "pioneering" designs simply part of a cyclical revival of forgotten fashions? Looking at some of the most influential designers of the twentieth century--from Yamamoto to Gaultier to Lagerfeld--Vinken considers the politics and philosophies that have been the driving force directing their sense of style. Vinken shows how fashion trends are informed by the past. Chanel, under the direction of Karl Lagerfeld, is viewed as the only fashion house to have remained fresh after one hundred years, yet is this success essentially proof of the self-referential qualities fashion has adopted? What inspired the fetish for labels at the end of the twentieth century? Answering these questions and many more, this thought-provoking book shows how beauty, gender, sexuality, commerce, and dandyism have persisted in defining the fashion system.

-Hypebeast issue 2: the revival issue (not my kinda mag but there is a MMM interview and a really good shot of Maurizio Cattelan wearing a crisp white shirt.
-Encens issue 29: good for that 80s fashion styling and designer inspired by it (say Doma and KVA)

Posted the Rei Kawakubo / CDG dossier from 032c on my tumblr. It's a pain in the ass reposting it here because the forum software likes to resize things.

Job well done, Mr. Shah. Thanks nod[1].gif

Christ I saw the name of this thread and thought it'd be about people discussing what books are "fashionable" read or have the most stylish covers. I'm relieved - some really interesting stuff in here.

A few iphone photos of The New English Dandy.

The book is half matte paper and half glossy. It alternates each signature of the binding.

The matte pages have historical photos and candids and the text runs the gamut from the birth and evolution of mens style to interviews with some of the tailors and models to a full tailor's glossary toward the back of the book.

The glossy pages are mostly professionally styled photoshoots with the models usually wearing their own clothes (or at least that's how it's presented). There's a description of the the look and often the model with each photo.

huh i think i did actually post that 032C before elsewhere ...

anyway, another one snake and i own (though i think you sold yours ??)

for the sake of archiving, since perhaps many have already gone through the pdf already
it was a bit vain and over-dramatic fluff, you can labour through it if you care to. it read like stream of consciousness drivel pieced together from twitter feeds and song lyrics but apparently there's good stuff that's not contained in those 40 pages i skimmed
