For questions, suggestions, and recommendations of books and other publications, e.g magasines, PhD theses, long-form articles, related to fashion

Some I've enjoyed recently (to be expanded with descriptions come lunch):

great thread.

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty
full of big beautiful pictures

The New English Dandy is a little dated, but still a great looking book and one that I find myself going back to relatively often.

I was thinking we could have reviews w/ scans and/or pictures for each book mentioned, flesh things out a bit.

Also magazines.

Also book that are not specially fashion books per se but somewhat related.

if we're including magazines I would like to nominate Kid's Wear as the most beautifully photographed/designed/styled magazine I've ever seen.

I'm sure many folks over-look it because they don't want people to think they're pedophiles, but each and every issue is really a masterpiece.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Agreed. Think it will take people a bit to track down their copies/remember what they were about/bust out the flatbed, but this would be ideal.

That's what I was trying to get at with the "and other publications" in the body of the OP.

BLESS interview+scans should go in the runway+high fashion thread (which should be renamed 'designer' something), scanned editos go in the editorial thread, review of the Bless MONO mag as a whole go here.

Got a bunch of Mono.Kultur on the way, will post soon.

I second the New English Dandy. It covers everything from Saville Row to streetwear and features some interesting creative characters.

I scanned a few additional pages from Yohji's Rewind/Forward 1995-2000 photo book the other day. I posted scans from the book before, but I felt like going back to it for some reason. It's a fantastic little book, with over 200 pages of photos.

Does this belong here, the runway/high fashion, or Yohji thread? No matter...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Also, I was going to scan the Rei Kawakubo feature in 032c maybe this weekend. It's 40 pages so I'm not sure I'm going to do all of it. Besides, most of it is just text. And I think Shah posted part of it in the past (?).
