13.5 oz Cone Mills Selvedge, Made in San Fransisco, and only $81? Kickstarter - Page 15

Do the Gustin cuts have a modern fitted seat (left image) or a repro anti-fit seat (right image). I avoid repro cuts like the plague because the back seam always rides up my crack giving me wedgie.

Mine are the classic cut and they are similar to your photo on the left with that concave cut. But, not quite so much.

They are several fit pics on their website.

The side view of the fits on the site looks suitable. I just couldn't find a rear-view that could indicate the wedgie potential. But your description of a concave back seam does sound promising.

You can always email the dudes and ask them if your local denim store carry their models so you can drop by to try on a pair.

Just went out to the mailbox to grab my Super Heavy. Wow! These things are amazing! This is some serious denim. They fit perfect standing up, but I find the higher rise of the straight cut a bit uncomfortable while sitting, unless my posture is perfect (it rarely is). Popping just the top button feels about right, so I'm thinking that a 1" ease will be close to perfect. My LVC '66 501's now fit like a glove after a bit of wear and a single wash, so I'll just give the new pair a little time. The LVC are what I used to compare measurements to. It's nice to have a *real* 34" inseam on the Gustin so I can double roll the cuffs, which the SH are begging for, in my eyes. The LVC are labeled 32/34, but are now missing ~3" in length, even if the waist is accurate. I still love them, though.

I also saw the Natural just as they posted it, so put an order in for them as well. I had originally had them as straight, but just switched to slim. Now that I'm used to the lower rise and know how to wear it, I much prefer it.

I promised a fit pic once they came in. My camera's battery was dead, so I had to fall back on my phone's crummy camera.

Big thanks to SparhawkJC for letting us all know about this back in January!

^ Wow! I'm surprised their classic fit looks this great! I'm guessing that's because you are at least what, 5'10 to 6'? Yeah, I think their classic fit won't work on us shorter guys. But looks great on you!

The classic fit doesn't look good unless you're over 5'10.

Thanks, man! Yeah, I'm 5'11" (and maybe some fraction) & 160 lbs.

Any insight on the natural denim? Never seen anything like it. Thinking of. Giving it a shot but won't it get dirty real fast? Also, no indigo, so no fades? Wish they had more pictures, will these look like white jeans?

NM, saw this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CC0QFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rawrdenim.com%2F2013%2F04%2Ftellason-ladbroke-grove-slim-tapered-12-5-oz-natural-selvedge%2F&ei=8regUcfoH4f89QTlsoHgCA&usg=AFQjCNGaFiWXhX_EhWVQKYR5hMzmXquHWw. Too white looking for me

They were popular in the 60's as alternative to blue jeans or chinos. Much like white jeans they require regular washing or they will look rather funky. They are a great look for Spring and Summer.

I picked up a pair of the Naturals (if it gets funded. currently sitting at 69% i think?). Id been hesitant to invest in this company until some IRL samples showed up on the web. Seems like for $81 these guys know what theyre doing, but when the natural selvedge popped up this week, i knew it was my opportunity to dive in.

i wear a 33 in Rogue Territory SKs (32 is a little too tight, but alright), 33in Tellason Ladbroke, 33 in Baldwin Henley, 33 in N&F skinny guy, so needless to say im mainly a 33 in most Made in USA slightly vanity sized raw denim. I went with a 33 in the Slim cut Gustins and am a *bit* worried theyll be too tight since their measurement guide says the slims measure 33.5 across waist, while the standard cut measure the 34 i normally need.

any insight from you guys? better a little tight and some stretch required, then just right and then will stretch too big.

Don't forget to account for the rise difference. As I mentioned, a slightly bigger waist fits me better when the rise is taller. I don't know what kind of cuts the other jeans you mentioned are or if it's the same for you.

I think you probably could go either way. If you always use a belt, that should help limit how much the waist stretches. That's worked well for me so far.

I ordered a pair of slim Green Tinted weft (hopefully I'll get them soon) but I REALLY don't want to miss out on the natural...

For those who have gotten their slim fits, how do they compare to APC NS. I wear 28 in NS and Dior 19cm but ordered a 29 Gustin Slim based on their measurements... I once had a 29 NS and they looked awful and I eventually traded them in to APC for a pair of 28s.

HELP!

Thanks!

None of the slim fits have shipped yet. All of the Kickstarter pairs are straight fit, and those won't finish going out until next week or so. The pairs from the Gustin site won't go out until after that. The Green Weft won't be for a bit yet.

all the cuts i mentioned are slimmer styles from all those brands. and i agree, a higher rise requires a bigger waist, so the lower rise does help with my decision.

im confident the 33 will be fine for me, but wish there was an opportunity to try a pair on in person. though i doubt it will be difficult to flip them in Buy & Sell should they be too small.
