What to wear over suit in 50-60 degree weather?

I will be in Washington DC for work this week. Daytime temperatures will be in the 50s, and I will be wearing suits. Seems too warm for my wool overcoat. I have a longish raincoat, but it's not supposed to rain. I could wear just the suit, but I worry that it's too cold for that. Any advice? Thank you!

I'm from the midwest and have a hard time thinking I would need a coat in 50 degree weather. That's not the answer you're looking for but for me I'd be fine with an undershirt, normal to heavy button up, and the suit.

The rain coat. 50s isn't that cold unless it's windy and if it's windy the raincoat will be perfect.

I think 50-60 degree weather is perfect suit-only weather. If you like, make it a heavier suit w a heavier shirt, but save wind and rain, you'll be fine.

Take the raincoat. If it is cool, wear it. If not, just go with the suit.

Ideally, a covert coat.

I often wear my wool topcoat in DC when it's in the 50s, but whenever I do so, I find myself wishing I had a covert coat.

may not be SF approved, but id wear a fleece suit and a scarf if you like. I tuck it into the suit jacket. Not ideal if you are fully CBD but looks fine other wise.

Also in DC here- suit, heavy scarf, and warm gloves do the trick if you are moving around (walking to metro vs driving)

By the way, if you wore a rain coat, I don't think people would object or notice. That might be the best, most practical solution if you don't want to go coat-less and don't own a covert coat.

Don't you have a light weight overcoat?

If it's 50F during the day you'll need to bring something for the evenings.

Too warm for any over coat so don't bother.

I was in DC for a week a month ago when the daytime temps were in the 50's. I took my unlined rain coat, and it came in handy for the cool evenings when temps were in the 30's.
