I am a 36R, and recently took delivery of a MTM Hart Shaffner Marx Gold 3 piece suit. The suit is a 2 button, and I have noticed that, despite having narrow lapels and a narrow cut, the lapels cover up a good half of the breast pocket, thereby rendering my frequent use of pocketsquares, almost useless. Have any other forum members that happen to be a 36 and own a two button suitcoat or sportcoat, experienced this same issue? Although I love the jacket and the fabric, and its probably not a big deal, I can't help but be frustrated by this nuance. What is the reason for this large overlap? Is it because I am such a small size that the jacket isn't wide enough between it's edge and the lapel to adequately accommodate the entire width of the breast pocket? It seems they could have moved the breast pocket over a bit, but perhaps that would have thrown off the overall balance and aesthetic of the pocket?
