Old fashioned Military Wet Packs

Thread Starter
Stumbled upon this on Drake's site and I have to say I really want one.

Has anyone got any experience with this type of an item, or ideally this specific one from Drake's?

How is the quality of Drake's leathergoods in general? Does anyone know?

There are two that look nice, the drake's one and one from SAB that I'm looking at.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Lovely, but if you travel by air in the US bear in mind that all liquids, gels, etc. etc. in your carry on MUST be in a clear ziploc bag for screening. The whole process put a kabosh on nice dopp kits.

Also bear in mind that all of that extra leather adds bulk to your suitcase.

I once carried a very nice leather dopp kit. But have given it up in favor of the requisite plastic bags. foo.gif

I have the SAB one in brown. i like it and find it far more convenient to pack and unpack than a regular toilet case. But bear in mind that once loaded with paste and toothbrush, deo and cologne, plus a comb and lotion, its dimensions more than double.

Here's a cheaper one that manufactures for many high-end brands. Built to similar exacting standards.

Unfortunately in todays travel environment elegant luggage
has become an inconvenience unless one travels by private
jet or the Royal Yacht Brittania.

That's the truth.

All my luggage is ballistic nylon. It looks like shit, but there's really no other choice. The chances of an expensive bag being stolen, lost, or damaged are just too high.

If you drive everywhere or fly private (asshole), knock yourself out. Otherwise, nylon is really the only option.

I put a all liquids in a clear plastic bag inside my dopp kit which goes on the top of my carry on. Problem solved.

Why not just put all the liquids and wash bag into the bag to be checked in? They provide amenity kits on flights don't they? Always had them on long haul flights
