Hi, everyone.
I bought Grenson fred V tan color boots. And I still didn't wear them due to heavy snow these days.
I just tried them on inside. But this picture shows pretty old looking boots. :)
Yet, being worried about the dry weather and for the leather health, I put leather conditioner, shoe cream and polish them, etc.
Well the darken color change after using conditioner is pretty expectable and acceptable,
BUT all of a sudden the wrinkles around the ankle part looks horrible. Especially, just one pair looks much worse than the other.
Sorry that I couldn't describe very well in the picture. I know, I would say it looks like healthy leather from the picture. Just a bit vintage looking.
But if you look at it directly, it doesn't. And if I slightly press the leather surface with my finger, all the cracks shows up.
Here, I took another picture with my phone to describe it better.
And it makes me think that I won't be able to wear these boots not too long. Cause it seems like the surface will fall apart soon.
FYI, the real leather looks much worse than in those pictures. :(
So, I regret a lot that I put shoe cream and polish them before I even tried them. Cause when I opened them, they looked pretty normal to me. But still, I can't believe Grenson used this weak leather for this boots anyway.
I wonder If this is pretty normal. And hopefully this doesn't get worse afterwards. If anyone knows how to improve it, please let me know. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
