sperry topsider a/o fit

So I bought two sizes of Sperry A/O and I plan to return the pair that doesn't fit. One is an 8 and the other is an 8.5. I know the sperry leather stretches and all but i'm still unsure.

The 8 feels good and fits like a glove. My little toe is also pushing through the shoe on my right foot(i believe it's a little bit bigger than left foot) because it's too narrow but only for that toe. There is barely any room from longest toe to front of shoe.

The 8.5 feels a little bit bigger and more roomy of course. It fits my little toe fine as well and there is a thumbs width from longest toe to front end of shoe. Also there is some heel slipping here but i believe that's due to the sole being new and stiff.

So basically, should i plan on the 8 stretching to fit my feet and risking the chance of it not stretching enough to fit them. Or should I get the 8.5, which are a little bit loose but fit my toes well and risking the chance of them stretching a lot later on so they will be flopping all over the place on my feet?

Thanks

Is it comfortable walking in the 8? if so I would stick with the 8.
You could also try the 8 in a wide width.

It's not exactly comfortable, but it's not painful. I just feel like my little toe is getting jammed a little bit in the 8s. I also have tried the 8 wide. My problem is that I have flat feet and it widens out around the balls of the feet when I stand and then I have a narrow heel so it creates an awkward fit/look. The 8 wide fit the balls of feet well but are really wide around the heel area. I feel like the shoe will widen a little bit to accommodate for the balls of feets so i think regular width will feel okay.

I wouldn't worry about the bigger ones stretching. I'm a 7.5 and bought a pair of size 8s, after wearing them this summer they are still the same size/fit as they were out of the box. Mine are suede though, if that makes any difference.
