Looking for some nice deep v neck sweaters. I don't mind to spend money ($150+) on them. I'm in the San Diego area if that helps any.

Any help would be great!

I've been searching for these for years. Sweater vests anyway. No one seems to make them. I tried to arrange a group purchase, through another website. We found a maker who would knit them to our specs if we could guarantee 20 orders. I don't think we got past 17.

How deep a 'V' are we talking about? I have a couple from John Smedley that are cut fairly wide and deep, I'd say.

Deep like a suit vest. Deep enough to show not just the knot of the tie, but also 2-3 inches of blade.

Then the two I have from JS, are deep enough.

+1

Smedley are deep V - mine would definitely show 2-3" of tie if I wore it with a tie

My Barbera cashmere v-necks are deep but not as much as the Smedley, they but would probably show 2" of tie

The Smedleys are about the deepest 'V' necks that I've found, in quite some time.

The knot, plus 2-3". So, in all, 5-6" of tie. It's been a while since I tried on a Smedly, but I found them to be too long, too slab-sided, and the V was too high. Not what I'm looking for. I want something like this:

Oh. Well, that deep a 'V' I have not seen. Not for a long time, if ever. Many women's sweaters are cut that way these days.

I was one of the 17. Maybe if the thread was revived now we'd get the three remaining people needed?

Those John Swedley's seem perfect for me. Are they online anywhere or at major department stores?

I have a few vintage Ballantynes with a similar V. They show a lot of tie. I'm not sure if modern Ballantyne is cut this low...

I have seen a friend wear a really deep v that stretched all the way to almost the bottom of the pecs. I've been looking for a similar sweater since...I saw a cashmere sweater like that in MUJI once, however it was the last one left and came in the wrong size. I've never ever seen any since then though
