Double-Breasted Storage: buttoned or unbuttoned?

So I always hang my double-breasted jackets / overcoats unbuttoned. However, I've noticed that heavy cloth doesn't hang well unbuttoned. I'm wondering if there's any long-term effect on the shape.

Get better hangers to support the shoulders, (hanger project type of hanger) stuff tissue paper in shoulder/upper sleeve area, hang unbuttoned.
