They said in the Ask Andy forum that if you call your local Wal-Mart and give them this bar code "8 54269 00442 8" they might be able to get a jacket shipped from another store to yours.

Secondly, the design is decidedly boxy. The closed quarters and lack of waist suppression are a problem for me.

It is no sack jacket. If you want more suppression then look elsewhere. Others do want sack jackets. You cannot please everyone; but that does not mean there is something intrinsically wrong with the jacket in the photo.

Hello. You were in one of those threads over there discussing the jacket. smile.gif Interesting thread.

I'm going to ask my tailor if she can give the jacket some waist suppression. She's done a very amazing job on every jacket I've given her so far.

Here's a pic they had in that thread of (supposedly) one of the Harris Tweed jackets. It looks like there's a lot of waist supression on this one:

It looks like that's pinned in the back.

WAY too hot. Shoot, in the midst of our summers I feel like I'm being strangled just wearing a lightweight cotton shirt with the top couple of buttons undone and nothing underneath.

You are right, the summers are ridiculously hot. BTW, nice avatar. Go Devils! And welcome to the forum.

I'll have to wait until Monday to post any pics. I wasn't able to take any pics last night and don't have the internet at home.

These jackets are really thick, heavy tweed. I have three other tweed jackets I got from thrift shops and the Wal-Mart jacket is heavier than all of them.

It's good for wearing it where I work cause they keep it cold in here all year.

Hey, I went to a few Wal-Marts in New Jersey because I had business nearby this weekend. They had some jackets in NJ and I tried on a 42L. I thought it fit me way better than the 44L. The shoulders are still a little wide but i can live with this. I bought one of the grey  (Dalmore?) jackets. I'm returning the 44l today. Here's a pic (as promised):

I would post a side pic but my posture sucks on the one i took so I'll retake one...heh heh lol8[1].gif

They had about a dozen jackets at the Hamilton, NJ Wal-Mart from 38 to 48.

I also went to the Wal-Marts in Frederick and Hagerstown MD to look for jackets in other colors. They had a shitload of jackets at the Frederick store (probably at least 20) and I got the Dalmore jacket there. I got the herringbone jacket at the Hamilton NJ store. They had over a dozen at the Hagerstown MD store but none my size.

If you know what size fits you I'd recommend getting one while they're still available.

For $50.00 you can't really go wrong! biggrin.gif

What...no comments on how shitty it looks on me? lol8[1].gif

FWIW- I'm happy with the two jackets I have. I may even keep the Barva jacket and have it tailored. If I could find a 42L I wouldn't have to do that though.

BTW- This ain't a "Fit" pic anyway. I'm just showing that the Harris Tweed SC aren't that bad. Well, it is and it isn't. I don't give a damn what anyone thinks I look like with it on. I just want to let the interested forum members who haven't been able to try them on know that they may like them.
