For some deep vintage, check this Apparel arts story illustration arguing that everything new in the 30s (spread collars, plaid suits etc) is just a reheat of the 1890s:

Here is something unusual:

Cotton twill uniform coat, early 20th c. Label is from an outfitter in Washington DC. May be uniform of the National Park Service in the 1930s. Not sure. Any ideas? The last image in the hidden section below has the original label.

Many great details.

Favorite vintage find from recent Palm Springs trip. Tweed overcoat with some amazing details. Leather lined button holes, crazy. Thing is basically a brand new decades old coat. Worst part, wife says I have too many overcoats.

Looks like something from the film American Hustle- very 70s.
The coat also happens to be Spanish- a quality brand at least
in those days.

Incredible! I love that it still has the $35 price on it. Fantastic score Org.

That's great.  My great grandfather was Charles J. Shriner who was one of the original owners.  I love the tags you have.  They manufactured in Rockland, MA then moved to 63 Melcher Street around 1906  and then 443 Albany Street, Boston..

^ What a wonderful connection above and unreal original find! A timeless piece that still has the essence of its time period. Strangely I found a NOS "Varsity Town Clothes" suit a few years ago, though it was from the 50's.

That is one of the most lovely suits from that period I have seen. I presume it fits you (or fits you enough that you can get it altered) if it's 'not available'. I look forward to the fit pics.

Unfortunately, I could never wear that without feeling like I looked like this guy:
