Before acquiring a jacket like that , one must own a Purdy shotgun.

I don't think I've posted any of my own vintage finds here, and after picking up a Brooks Brothers tie that appeared older than most in my collection, I thought it was time to put together a post.

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), default quality

I have a thing for ties (which appears to be a common issue on this site) and Chipp emblematics hold a special place in my collection.

The black sheep is one of my favorites.  Also sold off a IITYWTMWYBMAD (if I tell you what this means will you buy me a drink) for $127!! a few months back.

This came from a closet cleanout I bought off of an estate sale about 18 months ago.  After seeing what was in there, I very much so regretted it.  I used my wife's minivan to bring everything back, and it was literally packed full of polyester, polyester blends, and other horrible manmade fabrics.  One spark and I would have been transformed into a fireball visible from space.  However, this piece (along with just enough other stuff to break even on the escapade) caught my eye.

No idea what its made out of, but it's an interesting piece for my Brooks collection.

These were bought a few weeks later at another estate sale.  I've posted them before on the site, but it predates this thread.  10 new in packaging Brooks Brothers shirts.  I've had estimates on the age ranging anywhere from the late 50s to the early 70s.  I think early 60s is about right based on the pricing (original punch tags still included).  I've been meaning to send these to Typhoid for ages to consign, but putting them in a box and shipping across the country terrifies me.

I love the men Italian knit shirts of the 60's and 70's the ones made with natural fibers
with bold geometric designs and colors. Where can I find deadstock or excellent condition
versions? I think they represent a era when men were concern with looking good and being :)DRESSED UP I especially like the scene in the movie "Catch me if you can" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and a friend grabs him and he blurts out "Hey THIS IS ITALIAN KNIT" I would love to procure them for my new retro wardrobe I am putting together. Where can I find vintage deadstock or excellent condition Large size versions?

Bold embossed corduroy jacket I just added to my online shop... likely circa 1960's / 1970's.

What blows my mind on this belt is that its almost 60 years old and that buckle shines like new.

^ That Poole has a fantastically timeless cut and styling, notable since it's from a dark period in menswear. biggrin.gif
