Aaaaaaaaaah. I'd completely forgotten about the Urnergate scandal of '71.

Brooks Brothers pincord suit - 42 Long (gasp!) The pants taper to 8" at the bottom, a great silhouette! biggrin.gif The jacket is 2-button and darted, strangely.

Tweed 3 piece from 50ies per union tag. Interestingly quality was not very good so I left it.

I know nothing about union tags, but with those wide lapels and large pocket flaps, it
screams 1970s. Note: trad and semi trad clothing existed parallel with bell bottoms and double knits,
the main concession to the era was wider lapel width.

^ Sometimes it is possible that a small producer uses an older union tag. The trademark R came in 62 and is the only difference between before and after. The tag is from 49-62, maybe the suit is not. That would explain the crappy quality smile.gif

There's a 0% chance that suit is from the 50's, it's a 70's POS. I've seen pre-76 Union tags in a sport coat that was dated 82. Go figure! shog[1].gif

It may be old, it may be shit, but I bet with a 3 pc tweed suit, you could still make a good buck or 2 if that is intentions of thrifting.

You're right; I wasn't trying to be mean in my original quote. I'm just not a fan of anything to do with 70's clothing.
