^^ I love me some Kowloon Hong Kong tailoring

That one has a very '30s vibe to it. Very nice.

Cross-post from thrift thread:

I don't usually find too many really great size 38's so this was exciting for me.

Botany tweed, fully canvased, 3/2 roll, half-lined, windowpane, minimal shoulder padding, glove-like fit sexiness:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I love the pattern matching. Such great details.

Also crossposting from thrift thread - 1940 bespoke midnight morning jacket tuxedo...thing? Sorry, pictures are horrible and don't do it justice. Seems to be in pretty immaculate shape though.

^Nice, not a Morning Jacket though. That's a tail coat - formal evening wear.

Phenomenal!!! Old Botany 500 sport coats and suits are of superb quality, idiots who are only familiar with the 80's/90's junk be damned. They clothed Maxwell Smart on the show Get Smart!

i am glad that you are happy with your find.
However "back in the day" Botany was regared as very mid-range at best.
And Cardson Pirie and Scott in Chicago, where I lived at the time, was a second tier
or lower mens retailer.

Good info. I'm not as much concerned with the label itself. I know very little about Botany, except for the junk that's often found while thrifting, as Coal_Mining_Polak mentioned. My delight is more for the fact that it fits great, has a great pattern and good construction. Will compliment my Fall/Winter wardrobe very nicely!

Ridiculously rare and obscure Rondepierre bespoke.

Remarkably rare Donaldson, Williams, and Ward bespoke, which was home to both Edward Sexton and Tommy Nutter.

Full canvas, Made in USA, pattern matching... what more do you want to classify it as a solid high-quality mid-level brand? Also, simply finding something that's not a 42 L in the thrift is well worth noting.
