Vintage HF cream shawl collar evening jacket, made for Walter BD Hickey, Jr. who was the President of HF in '64 according to this

MOP buttons

hand stitching under the collar, hand stitched button hole on the lapel

a hole I missed under the left arm. Only damage I could find. It's worth getting this rewoven, I think

Very nice spalla camicia

This thing fits me well, so I'm keeping it. What's the spot people sent stuff for re-weaving? Also, what does one wear with a cream evening jacket? Tux pants? Blackwatch plaid vintage BB flannels?

GM-H, what's up with your fox? He looks mighty offended.

grendel, the folks at Hickey might be interested in buying the jacket back. You never know. You can either add one creamy jacket to your wardrobe or cash it out.

Worth a shot... I'd trade it to 'em for a bespoke navy blazer.

Just picked up this vintage navy polo-style coat. The union tag (understanding its limitations set forth above) dates it to the 1940s: Wool/cashmere blend, super thick and, other than its need to visit a dry cleaner and the possible replacement of one button, this thing is in excellent shape.
Classic late30s/early 40s lapels too. Wunderbar!

Crossposting from the thrift finds thread - hope this belongs here. Any guesses on the age?
