That Jos A Bank Harris Tweed is fantastic. Timeless cut, their old offerings were just as good as Brooks Brothers. I've seen the red tag as early as the 1970's, going until the 90's.

Here's an eye-catching suit. The pattern says 70's, but the lapels and cut are more conservative. All wool, Made in the USA.

Found this 1941 Boston Uniform Co coat yesterday - really heavy, smooth wool with great copper buttons and gorgeous details everywhere. It's a bit too aggressive for me to wear around campus... I'm a very skinny 38L for reference, so the cut is definitely non-standard and it has the name inside - would it have been bespoke?

Anyone here have any info on Tartleton Sports Jackets? 100% polyester shell made in Japan, found a very heavy tie bar in one pocket and a matchbox from someone's wedding in 1983. Any info would be much appreciated! Pics later.

Today -

A real “blazer”, likely from the 50s, and a tremendous, heavy fur muff, likely 1930s. Look at that pattern matching on the jacket and the triple patch. So awesome.

Is it a US Navy officer's Overcoat? Is there an insignia on the buttons?
Yes, it could be bespoke.

books and tweed, you could always change the buttons to horny ones if the coat otherwise fits you and suits your needs. Metal buttons are always a bit showy.

Spoo, mehhh...I'm not feeling that dropped, dated breast patch pocket on that true blazer. Those Chipp jackets are The Right Stuff, though.

That's a US navy officer bridge coat. I have one just like it, surprisingly in 38L, too :fistbump: I had the sleeves shortened a little bit and the zip for the lining taken out. Who cares if they're aggressive -- they're warm.
