Best "Drugstore Brand" Exfoliator

I am trying to be price effective and I hear that there are drugstore brands out there that are just as good as all those cosmetic/high end brands. I've got combination skin. Just ran out of St.Ives recently and it seems quite a few of you consider this too harsh for your skin. I was using the one with the microbeads, not the one with all the chunks that scratches your face. Is that still bad? Otherwise, can anybody recommend a relatively cheap (say under $20) and effective exfoliator/scrub. It doesn't necessarily have to come from a drugstore. Thanks in advance!

My favorite that I've used for years is baking soda. Just add enough water to make a paste, it makes your skin very smooth and it's very gentle on your skin. If you have dry skin, you'll need to moisturize afterwards.

That sounds really interesting. I'm going to give it a shot.

Oatmeal and honey, by Queen Helene.

Oil of Olay. If you're going organic, try using the seed of an apricot, grind it on a food processor and use it as an exfoliator. I like to mix it with avocados.

Target sells Sharps products cheap (also Proraso). A tube of their "Mint Kick" face scrub is about $5.00

It is not a drugstore brand but it is under $20 - Zirh has a product called Scrub. It is one of there only products under $20 and it is great. You can find it at Sephora or any major department store. I highly recommend all of there products.

I'll have to try this. It sounds like it'll go well (in the middle of summer) with Proraso pre/post and shaving cream.

I use Baxter of California scrub. Costs $12, IIRC.

I use neutrogena's microdermabrasion stuff and pond's microdermabrasion stuff. Both work well, but Pond's is quite a bit cheaper. Im actually looking for something that would be a little harder on my face. I friend got a microdermabrasion at Aveda, and he said that they use bamboo bark in their mixture...

I've done this... with Cetaphil and a small amount of baking soda. Works really well!
