Yellow Hook Appreciation Thread - Page 145

If you're in the DC area come and check us out at the American Field Pop Up next weekend!

DOCK 5 AT UNION MARKET
1309 5TH ST NE WASHINGTON, DC

An urban village born from the diversity of the dreams and energy of the nation’s capital. An authentic market of culture and commerce. A true gathering place that serves as an inviting melting pot of old world heritage and new world opportunities. From its roots as Centre Market, a fresh food venue born over 200 years ago, it’s been a great unifier for DC – connecting people from a variety of backgrounds. It will prove to be that creative spark again. An authentic district that expands beyond its culinary origins to include music, retail, hotel and residential uses. An organic source for economic growth, Union Market is a vision that has to be realized. It will be DC’s discovery destination. A pioneering place where vision not only matters but materializes into a thriving, relevant and culturally rich district of sights, sounds and tastes.

Also pretty psyched to be doing the SFxAH Trunk Show again this year on November 5....we hope to debut some pretty rad shirts at the show if they're done in time....

White OCBD underneath a navy jumper with a Rescued Denim Work Shirt on top:

then a more casual interpretation for the denim:

And Double Denim

and to give you an idea on the fit of our second pattern here's a YH2 Denim Work Shirt over a YH2 Napoli Spread Collar:

I'm generally in between a YH1 and YH 2, for all the pictures on the website I'm in a YH1. I'll try and get this on next week in both a YH 1 and YH2 without the braces to give you a better idea. The slim pattern is also going to be tweaked a bit as well, shortening the length a tad, and giving a bit more room in the elbows, as that was another fit issue many guys seemed to have.

Does anyone have any pictures of the Chambray dress shirt in streaky blue?  I wasn't sure if it was a solid looking color, or if there's a variation in the pattern (hence the name).

Ironed and paired with pants vs gym shorts...promise I won't keep posting this shirt haha.

Rob - when you make tweaks will this fit still be available or replaced entirely (hoping the former but with three elbow tweak).

It's pretty solid, I post up a pic this weekend.

This fit will still be around...I'd say it was about 50/50 on this being a bit too slim for some guys, so we're going to go with both.

Fit tweaks sound good Rob.  Look forward to getting my YH4's and hoping it fits like I expect it will.  Then I need to work on a Work Shirt - Will you be tweaking those fits as well?

Glad to hear that as well. I like the length on the current model as well for the dress shirts. Nice to have them stay fully tucked all day without popping out.

Slightly, yes. These were designed for different purposes, and with a little more room, but we are going to give them a touch more room on the next round.

The length is just about perfect, we're going to shorten the next round, but literally a smidge, so it shouldn't impact that issue much if at all.

By the way, I just responded to a slew of PMs. If you guys pmed me and I haven't responded in a timely manner, I apologize. Best way to get a hold of me is to shoot me an email at yellowhookshop@gmail.com. I can even email you back my number to text for even faster response, Sorry boys.

@NewYorkIslander No Proper Kit for you this year? Too expensive? FWIW, I had been aware of you since before you started the company, but didn't buy anything until I saw you at Proper Kit and subsequently bought my brother-in-law a tie for xmas. Then I ended up buying 2 for myself in the post xmas sale. Then my bro-in-law bought 2 more in the spring. Then I bought one from @SpooPoker. Then my bro-in-law bought the pumpkin caj' last week.  Point being that even if it wasn't a terribly productive day for you on the spot, it did spawn at least two YHNT fanatics.

Thnaks man. We WILL be there sharing a booth with @Parker! That should be fun! We're also going to be doing the American Field show in DC this weekend, as well as the one in Brooklyn in December. It's been a busy Fall. And thank you for the compliment @Bakes11771. The thing we here the most about our in person appearances is that the stuff is so great to see and handle in person. I like to think of it like a hockey game, seeing it live and in person kills it over on the screen.

For those of you that don't know, Courtney and I founded and chair a non-profit group called Borbone Brigante that buys barrels of bourbon from American Distilleries with the sole purpose of raising money for small and local charities. Yesterday we were at it again, and bought two barrels of Smooth Ambler Old Scout to help out OLPH Youth Soccer here in Bay Ridge. Here are some shots from yesterday's experience.

Courtney is a YH 2 (Women's). We're going to work on a woman's pattern, and if any of you want one of our denim shirts for the ladies in your life, send me a message and we can make that happen.

The Gang who Picked (YH shirt on Courtney and I)

YH Denim Shirt with John Little, Master Distiller at SA

Long drive, but a GREAT day for a GREAT cause.
