Looking GREAT!

Just a heads up guys, we moved the remaining summer ties into clearance at $89.99 and we're offering all Styleforum members 10% off any and all of the new ties (Late Summer Collection) and I think we'll keep this discount going for the month of July.

Can anybody speak to the composition of the "Cashmere Silk Windowpanes?"

Note: I suppose the same question can be asked of the Dippin Dots, which must be my favorite name for an article of all time.

If you mean the exact fabric content I don't know, but they are both amazing.

The composition of most of our cashmere silks are very unique. Some of them resemble more wool, while others could pass for pure cashmere or pure silk. It really depends on the weave of the cloth. The more porous ones tend to be the rougher ones.

The Cashmere Silk Windowpanes are more like a knitted silk tie, but a bit softer and smoother. The Dipping Dots is a bit rougher as those "dots" are really elevated from the rest of the cloth. Windowpanes are a 4 season tie, while the Dipping Dots are best suited for cooler temps (I'd say 60s and below). Both of these were initially run from the same mill Tom Ford neckwear is done from and we were lucky enough to get an in at the factory to get a hold of these really special pieces.

I have not received my Windowpanes as yet, but when I do, I'll be sure to comment on them for you.

As for the Dippin Dots, they are a gorgeous, lightweight, and airy three-fold Italian cashmere/silk blend. Rob, please jump in anytime to correct me. I have three of them - violet, blueberry, and raspberry coloured. I find them too warm for the July/August humid Summer's here in southern Ontario, Canada. But are fabulous for Spring and early Fall. They have been my goto ties up until today, where the temperature hit 30oC plus humidity by mid-afternoon. It's now time to bring out the linens.

Hope that helps @ericgereghty. If there is something more specific, I can take some pictures of them for you.

Cheers,

imy

Thanks @imys, that pretty much sums it up well. Your windowpanes should arrive any day now...enjoy!

@imys that violet (first one pictured?) is some sort of funky! It looks like a blueberry/blackberry cobbler lol, though perhaps that it just the lighting/picture that seems to be throwing off golden hues from my vantage point.

Good news and bad news. Styleforum10 is no longer working.

Good news:
We are celebrating summer with our first family vacation in two years. We will be spending two weeks at one of America's most beautiful beaches. We want to share our celebration with you and are doing that by offering all of our handcrafted pieces in the most luxurious fabrics that you have come to know, love, and expect from us at 25% off. Hurry though, like all good things this too will end.

(Don't worry, you'll still get your ties right away. We brought them right along with us.)

I can't find an e-mail address on your website, perhaps my internet skills are just lacking today. Do you do MTO's? If so, would it be possible to get the Cabernet Cashmere (http://yellowhook-ties.myshopify.com/products/cabernet-cashmere) in a 3.5" x 61-62"? I am taller so normally need longer ties, I do not think 58" is going to cut it.

At SOME point, I imagine a day will come when I cease to be blown away by YellowHook's service and attention to detail...but today is most certainly not that day.

I emailed Rob, asking if he could hold a Canary Linen for me, as I noticed it was off the website, a request which he obliged. In addition, he said he'd throw in a little something extra, free of charge. A pretty sweet deal, if you ask me, all things considering.

I expected something actually little, perhaps a pocket square, gift card, or something of a (relatively) nominal cost to Rob and YH.

Silly me! I opened the package, and, to my great surprise, was greeted with a teaser piece from the upcoming F/W line: a wonderfully lush grey stripe cashmere tie. To be honest, my only regret is receiving it at a time in which I could not even consider wearing it (95+ degrees out in Los Angeles). That said, it's a fantastically dour (I swear this is meant as a praiseworthy thing) tie that will work with just about anything I throw in with it...when the climate permits, of course.

Once again, fantastic transaction Rob...you're one of the good ones my friend.

@Gauss17 unfortunately that tie was VERY limited, we were only able to make two of them (and they're now sold out). If you'd like, we do have some other cashmeres available to us that are pretty similar. Hit me up here via PM or at yellowhookneckties@gmail.com and we can discuss getting one done for you. We won't be back in Brooklyn to our fabric stock (much of which is stored in our apartment) until the end of July, but turnaround time shouldn't be too long (think 2-4 weeks).

@ericgereghty you're quite welcome bud. That cashmere was one of two pieces we made, and once in a while we'll toss a little something extra into some orders, glad you enjoyed it! That run of cashmere was fantastic...

Reminder, we have a 25% off sale going while we're away on all of our current stuff. Check it out while it lasts guys. And as always, thanks for supporting small, hand crafted business!
