I think I might still have one of those... Gosh, it's been so long since I've even held a tie...
This story sounds familiar...
Since YH is sadly no longer around, I feel ok strongly advocating for Vanda, particularly if you are in need of a true small business option for your ties, squares, etc. There are other high quality options (Hober, for instance) out there as well, but Vanda is as good as it gets, in my opinion.Thank you for sharing. I had heard of Vanda but never thought to check them out. After seeing the video and learning it is a husband-and-wife shop with incredible handiwork, I will definitely be ordering in the future.
I do think (and hope) Panta is still around, though they’re definitely not maintaining a retail presence for accessories and such. Couldn’t hurt inquiring with Ed. In recently getting a secondhand Panta suit, I would love to have something made for me. Suit itself is badass, and it’s very well made.My go to choices for smaller brands for ties that are at the Yellow Hook level of quality:
Vanda
Hober
Panta (though I think this company is no more as well)
Chipp isn’t quite the same level of quality (in terms of fabrics) as the others mentioned here but they are still very nice and quite the bargain.
