What are some of your favorite businesse books/articles? Educational, Insightful, Technical

I just recently got: Discovering Statistics using SPSS by Andy Field. I know most people will not just pick up a book on statistics but for somebody like myself that was studying it, that book is what I would classify as a fawking GOOD book. I sometimes look at Amazon's top sellers to try out some new books but none of those self-help or business-fiction (books that tell the ideal story) really interests me. I'm now looking for more advanced books on any business subject from market research to finance to HR.

I just finished my undergrad in Finance & Marketing but I realized most of the courses I've taken have been a joke, basically memorizing formulas or terms.

Looking for good books on the following topics:

Economics

Finance

Operations management/supply chain

HR

Market research/sampling techniques

etc.

I don't mind a good fiction/entertainment/spirtual/etc. book either.

Throughout the 90's Richard Thaler published a series of articles in the Journal of Economic Perspectives called "Anomalies: etc etc etc" that provide an excellent introduction to behavioral economics. Most are available through google scholar (though if you recently graduated, you probably still have access to economic journals).

also a really really important work (heavily referenced): Kahneman and Tversky's first paper introducing Prospect Theory

As far as books:

The Moral Animal (Wright). An excellent run up to evolutionary economics

The Worldly Philosophers (Heilbroner). Basically the history of economics as a discipline. Easy, enjoyable, and educational.

Nudge (Thaler). More policy oriented behavioral economics

Freakonomics (Levitt). You've probably read this already, but if not, it's a fun read.

Making Globalization Work (Stiglitz)

Pop Internationalism (Krugman). Out of date, but well written and puts the developments of the last couple of decades into an interesting perspective

Depending on your economics, Stiglitz and Krugman might either be great or piss you off.
