Well, I think the MTO part just lets you pick colour and leather type, you still need to 'conform' to the basic parameters of the model ie no changing lasts. So at the moment, just deciding on the 'base' and then I'll think about the configuration.

edit: it's probably going to be a Shannon, if they let me...

'they' are EG (and thus also LeatherSoul). I'm thinking of a Beaulieu/ austerity brogue, maybe midnight blue, though olive green is possible as I already have blue JL Becketts and Vass monks.

Had a look at boots in Tassels here - The stock Galway is quite bulky compared to the Shannon (they had a 'not for sale' sample) and the Epsom. Looks like it'll be a Shannon, though waiting on replies from Leathersoul.

^ not surprising given the purpose of the Galway and Shannon's. I think bulky is a relative term. Certainly one would expect the balmoral boot to be sleeker but the Galway ain't no pair of Tricker's Stows either. Either one would be a great choice. Keep us informed.

Probably Shannons.

Would it be silly to pay extra to 'upgrade' to St Crispins?

You like the Shannons, ThinkDerm? :) Was your favourite pair all green calf or some combo of suede/ pingrain please?

Also, for anyone reading, there's a odds'n'ends sale on at Leathersoul - some nice stuff at up to half price!

Going with St C in the end, EGs were too restrictive.
