Cloth brush for suits and coats

Thread Starter

Greetings, everybody,

I read a book on style that suits cannot sustain frequent dry-cleaning, and the best way to clean suits after several wears is to use a cloth brush to brush off the dusts.  May I ask where to buy those brush soft enough to use on suits?  How about coat cleaning.  Thanks!

I've heard good things about Kent Brushes

Cheaper ones can be found on their ebay store, unfortunately there aren't any for sale at the moment. I think these may have blemishes like a knot in the wood or something.

Thanks!  Do they ship to the U.S.?

Yes, it takes about 2 weeks to receive the item.

I have 3 Kent brushes.
A hair brush.
One for wool and one for cashmere.
Bought years ago. You won't find a better brush.

I've found the Kent boar bristle too hard for clothes, I bought a brush some times ago but never use it.

I think that a classic horsehair shoebrush, it's perfect also for clothes and more delicate, I use a large Saphir brush.
I use also a supersoft neckbrush only for sweater.

How does that compare to using cloth roller from the CVS?  Thanks...

The Kent ebay store lists no item...  Is this because they removed somewhere?

How does the bristle compare to horsehair, which one is softer?

Also, which brush would be good (soft and effective) for using on a suit, coat, and a cashmere sweater?

Thanks!

I bought a Kent clothes brush 3 or 4 years ago and use it regularly on my suits. I got it from their eBay site. Works well.

Try Amazon.

I picked up the CS1B from Hanger Project.  Beautiful brush and works very very well for my more durable (Super 120s ish) suits.  However, for the more flannel type suits or Cashmere a softer brush is definitely needed.

Kent CC20 brushes just went on sale at their ebay store if you're still looking.

Thank you kcox68!  Unfortunately, I didn't find the link for the CC20 model you mentioned.

Would this double-sided clothes brush by Kent on eBay also work?  I plan to use it on my coats and suits.  Would the bristle on this brush too harsh on them?  Many thanks!

I just grabbed one of them. They retail for $109 (plus tax) on Amazon and I just paid around $35 delivered. I'm not giving it as a gift, so a gnarled handle is okay. Thanks, SF!

I do see a cashmere brush on the Kent site, so it might be a good idea to have two brushes. One with the two levels on it like the double-sided Kent brush and something for more delicate fabrics.
