In other news it looks like Illinois has 180 days to enact concealed carry laws or appeal to the Supreme Court. It's about damn time.

If only those kids had guns, then they could have shot back and stopped the killer, right?

Get real.

Enough is enough! I am going to write a letter to President Barack Obama calling for a country wide gun ban. We do not need another tragedy like this. I encourage everyone who cares about people to write to the President to ban guns.
The people have had enough of weak little men with guns hurting other people. If you need a gun then you are not a man. Fucking losers keep on killing innocent people. The most sorriest fucks are those who carry concealed all the time, such a bunch of pathetic pieces of shit.

Again get real.

^Nice job of editing out your "sincere hope that all of (Crane's) loved ones get shot and killed by a gunman."

Have whatever opinion you want regarding guns, but you're a piece of shit.

It is about time gun laws are changed in the United States. It took the tragedy of 20 children, but we can change it. We can't wait any longer.

Good luck, it's not going to happen. The government might be stupid about a great many things but this is one area where they aren't.

Too funny, run along child and have a tantrum elsewhere.

I guess I missed something interesting or something? From what I'm gathering the mouth breather above wished me and mine harm?

Yeah, my quote probably isn't exactly what he said, but it's pretty damn close.

Well, it's pretty clear that people that think like Iroh should not be allowed to own a firearm.

Puny little men who need big guns to hurt people, and they say they need the guns to feel secure. I know I would never be friends with a "man" that "needs" a gun to feel strong. Weaklings. That is who they are.

Piss off. Go troll somewhere else.

Not sure if this the appropriate thread/sub forum for this, but what do you guys think of simply making it ridiculously difficult to obtain a gun, legally? Banning guns outright just won't ever happen, so that's off the table. But strict regulation, I think, is the solution.

Of cours the devil is in the details, but my belief is that it should be way, way, way, WAY more difficult to buy a gun legally in the USA.

Also, armor piercing rounds and tear gas available for civilians? That's a huge WTF for me. That shit should be banned, IMO.

This isn't the right thread for this. Anyway. If you think AP rounds and tear gas is something chew on this for a while. By federal law it is legal for a citizen to own up to 50 pounds of high explosives for their own personal use. In my state that limit is reduced to 10 pounds by statute. Mull that one over for a while and have fun with it in CE where this kind of thing is supposed to be discussed.

+1 for this one.

Most European nations have strict regulations. To obtain a weapon, you have to store it in a gun cabinet that is bolted to a wall or the floor, or has a dry-weight of 660 lbs. You also have to get a gun permit at you local police office. Pistols and alike weapons (such as revolvers) is only available to those who are active members in a pistol club. Active meaning at least 12 recorded trips per year, and a min. amount of fired rounds. Shotguns can not have mags with greater capacity than 2 rounds. Military, or military alike weapons are also illegal. Rifles are limited to 5 round mags. Automatic weapons are illegal.

This works. I have never seen any reason for owning an M4, AK-47 or similar weapons. Unless I am defending myself from an entire squad of trained men, any weapon will do. If such were the scenario, illegal guns would not be my biggest concern. And what is up with the ones who own a gun "for safety" and never use it. You are more likely to hurt yourself than anyone else.

A girl I know said she wanted to get a pistol to protect herself. I told her that without proper training, she would never have any use for it. She got real angry, told me I was a woman-hater etc. Took her to the fireing-range, and had her try to shoot a target with the size app. to a male chest. She diden´t hit the target before she was 30 feet away. So the "protection" thing, mostly BS. There is never any good reason to be armed unless you are thinking about robbing the Federal Reserve or something.
