Which blue? There are 2 shades of blue there's a light blue and a navy. I can't choose for you my friend. If this helps, I chose khaki because a lot of the pants n shorts I have are colour or print heavy. So I needed something to tame it a bit, khaki seemed to work with everything I own and it has a classic feel to it.

I really liked the light blue. There's nothing trendy about it. And quite a versatile colour. Plus there's a lot of navy going around the last 2 collections. So maybe light blue is the way to go? I hope this makes your decision easier.

I like the fit of the Bedford more. It's a little boxier and shorter in length. I find the fit amazing. If you like your shirts to drape below (at both cuffs and hem) you'll love the Bedford. The Truman is longer, same length as most of my shirts which is a shame. It also has longer sleeves, I like the cuffs of my shirts to be visible below the jacket aswell, so I had to have the sleeves shortened on my Truman an inch (they were very long to begin with).

I'd say both jackets are good allround jackets. I can not understand how any of them would be "better" than the other, apart from that the Truman is perhaps a bit more "dressed" while the Bedford might appear more "sporty".

Of all the sport coats the Bedford is my favorite, although I have yet to try the Baker and Andover. I aim to get my first Andover this year, be it SS or FW. Will also soon receive a SS12 Brookline. If you'd like I can comment on the fit of that aswell.

My suggestion is that you get a dark navy or black Bedford. Something that can be matched with pretty much anything. It will (hopefully) stay in your closet for a very long time.

Hope that helps. smile.gif

This is great feedback so thank you!! smile.gif I've always wanted to own one so I might just have to put the foot Down. Ill be sure to take a fit pic once I receive the jacket. Again thanks and sorry I didn't mean to spam. I'm posting via iPhone and the mini site works little differently.

Off topic but does anyone have a s/s 11 shirt in medium? I have a line on a nice one but I'm not sure how sizing ran. Would be interested in knowing what type of shirt and chest measurement. The few EG shirts I've handled I've found I need to size down but from what I understand this changes season to season. Feel free to shoot me a PM

The penn shirt went up $100 dollars since SS12 :/

I MIGHT be selling my navy serge wool andover in M that I got from J&O. I think it's too big. I know some ppl had regrets not finding one so let me know if you want it. (I realize this is the spring thread so sorry for the interruption.)

I've only seen Penn shirt available at Inventory this season, but I'm looking for tan or maybe olive. I regret not purchasing SS12 tan version.

Can anyone help with online stockists with a medium?

I'm referring to the Light Blue. I also like the Light Blue but I do not want it to be just an instant attraction. Khaki is a neutral colour & is always easier to match or me. Maybe I'll get the Ground Jacket in Khaki & the Windbreaker in Light Blue. At the moment, I'm still waiting for Gary to get me a XS in the Tri-Colour Beach Popover.

Thanks for your honest opinion. I really appreciate it.

If you're on the fence and want to get at least 1 piece, I recommend the Ground Jacket in Khaki.

Such a versatile piece; it really goes with anything.

I haven't seen any of this seasons jackets in person, and I love my bedford, but if I were to buy one blazer from this season, it would definitely be the ecru truman. seems like a truly great fabric.

This one?

This is an XL. Usually wear M in all EG.
Well I'm usually an xl so I'm guessing it won't fit me
Looks great on you, love the beard

A friend of mine bought it this past weekend and I tried it on. I guess I could get away with a Large since there's a lot of layering under that XL (thick EG flannel + wool sweater).
