Engineered Garments Spring/Summer 2013, plus FWK - Page 17

got to check out the new stuff at Context over the weekend. Ended up picking up the chambray work shirt...because I basically pick one up every season it seems like. They fit a little big, like FW. I actually sized down to a medium in it and love the fit. The madras and white poplin I would stick with large as they aren't quite as generously sized and I'm tempted by both of them. Also tried on the anchor print shorts...nice fabric, cut is slim in the legs. The 34s fit in the waist but the thighs were very tight, sized up to 36 and the waist wasn't huge but the legs fit much better. This paired with the white poplin is a nice combo...just not sure I'm a print shorts type of guy... I did not try on the natural selvage jeans, but did like them and may have to check them out sometime.

It was on the old versions of the Field Jacket. But I am not holding my breath right now, because it looks like this one might be on the shorter side. I'm only 6'1" but many of EG's jackets are just ridiculously short, not a flattering look. Maybe it works if you do the "untucked shirt showing under a short jacket" thing, which I don't. Well, time to go to Aoyama I guess.

Is this the same field jacket with the extra [semi skirt] section underneath? However its not revealed?

I would be surprised if it had that. The old versions didn't.

I'm thrilled with this. I've hated the cuts the last few years with the absurdly narrow shoulders and long bodies.

Awesome if it is; the EG styling is perfect for me (soft skirt/untucked shirt showing under short jacket).

Well, it works for women of course.

Lol, I'm a dude. I take much offense to this statement.

But no, it works really well on both guys and females; no need to make it a full on kilt/skirt (no Kanye).

Oops. I am sorry for that. I think your nick name made me jump to the conclusion you were a woman who was into the EG men's line. It wasn't my intention to insult you.

I won't argue about style with you. I simply live in a completely different universe, style-wise, so let's just agree it's great that EG is versatile enough that we both can wear that jacket fistbump.gif

I really dig the robe under short jacket look, wish I hadn't slept on that navy polkadot one from last season.

So, what are peoples opinions on the penn shirt jacket?
I love the cpo but until now I have only bought fw pieces and it seems none came out for this season so I'm considering the penn as my first ss shirt jacket, but I rarely read about it here and I've only seen like 1 or 2 fit pics, so hows the fit on it? does it have any side gussets or is it a square cut at the bottom? and does the body have an A cut (flares out at the bottom) or a strait cut? boxy/slim?
Hey and if you've got one please share a fit pic when possible, tia.

Looking at copping a Bedford as my first EG piece. TTS or size up?

Depends on material season. I have a size small cotton whipcord from a few seasons back and it measures smaller than most the recent seasons. Also depends in desired fit (do you want to layer?).
