Engineered Garments Spring/Summer 2013, plus FWK - Page 9

I wasn't really feeling the Truman jacket when they introduced it but it looks great in the lighter fabrics. Chambray (?) looks very nice.

The ecru truman looks very tempting, hoping they made a matching pant.

Grabbed a small handfull of items recently. Huge amount of thanks to Gary for making it happen – in saying that i got the Truman Jkt Indigo Denim (missed out on the F/W Trumans sadly), Western Shirt Red/Navy Gingham, Neck tie Navy with red/white polka dots, a couple of Cambridge Shorts and the Anchor USN Pant. The two pieces im hanging for now are the Long Banded Collar Shirts, North Wind Vests and the Paiseley Baker Jacket.

A sneak peek at FW13 (via Pitti Uomo 83). Much of the similar patterns/colors; shot of red pants is interesting.

J+O had one of those long banded shirts from the fall/winter fenwick line, really nice piece.

MAC's first delivery arrived today... the navy/white bold striped shorts (looked like a nice sturdy weight canvas... they were literally unpacking the boxes while I was there, nothing was on the rack), the two-way striped zip hoodies, both in navy/white and red/navy/white stripes, chambray miner shirts, a few other white oxfords (couldn't tell if they were 19thC BD's or what), some scarves in different plaids, and a selection for FWK, including plaid western shirts, a pink chambray or maybe linen round collar shirt, and the polka dot pull-over sailor shirt things. No men's pop-overs (which I usually pick up every season) but I was told they did indeed order stuff in wilder colors this year, but couldn't remember if they ordered the tie-dye version.

Additionally, there are some good pick-ups to be had in their sale... I picked up a Cabourn BD in heavy grey/green chambray for $110 (down from $370) and a Mossimo Alba linen jersey longsleeve tee for $74. They have what seemed like a whole size run left of EG storm parkas in Navy for maybe less than $300,, as well the red and grey striped wool pants for I think under $100. A few odds and end from Kolor, Junya, White Mountaineering, Dries, etc on similar markdown.

dixonmanor: What's MAC? Do they have a webshop?

Knight: I'd love some fit pics if possible! About that Paisley Baker Jacket, is it the same blue/green/brown paisley as seen on a hat and a tie?

The denim is a little tougher this year compared to SS12 'light weight denim' as seen on the Landsdown and Fenway Pant. It's a similar denim to the FW12 work shirt.

There are some pics throughout this thread which has the long banded collar shirts but they're on a rack so it's hard to see them.

I haven't received the Baker Jkt paisley yet but once I do ill be sure to take pics... But yes it's the same material and print you're seeing on the ties, pork pie hats etc...

I talked to Angelo about that when we did our buying for Independence - you're correct
we'll put stuff up as soon as it arrives

Yeah, this season is way too Hypebeast-young rich streetwear kid/Batten Sportswear for me. I would buy those crazy shorts with the big daisy-like florals, but they seem to have a flap pocket with a snap button, which is way too swim trunks to drop the cash. Also, I just rounded up every Post Overalls short I could find on sale (surprised to still find quite a few on Mortar, Union and Independence) and the quality of those is just insane.

Saw the Truman in Ecru at Nepenthes and it's great, yes. Will probably disappear soon and never come back.

canstyleace: Thank you.

prurient: Did you get a chance to see that light chambray like Truman too? If so what's your opinion on it?

Nope, I was very much drawn to the Ecru one for its summer-grandpa vibe. I didn't notice the chambray one.
