Spending money at Saks = special sales?

Is this one of those retailers where you have to spend money with them to actual get in on their sales? Few weeks ago I got emailed a special one-time use only 15% off code. I only purchased one thing from them recently

you don't HAVE to spend to get the headsup. develop a relationship with a particular SA or two and you'll prolly get the email & calls.

They have a great sale on everything right now. Went to the manhatten location and saw RL, Canali, Corneliani, Cantarelli all on sale.

  best i've experienced from spending actual cash :

post above is correct - they've been dropping prices pretty regularly since just before christmas season.

i expect a blow out right after christmas from what i'm hearing from the SA. who knows what'll be there after though.

Their consolidation sale is pretty good, about 70% off last time it was in Orlando. No official email sent though, i just happen to stop by on the day it began. Hoping it comes around again...
