19% of college chicks have "attempted or completed sexual assault." Only 3.5% are forcibly raped. That's lower than the odds for a girl not in college.

According to statistics I looked up, in 2010 0.21% of females over the age of 12 were raped. A rape rate of 3.5% would still be shockingly high. If we assume that is spread over a period of four years, it would mean that college women are more than 4X more likely to be raped than a member of the female population in general.

Anyone have statistical figures for LGBT students?

Well, again, remember that we are dealing with the feminists' definition of rape. Which is rape-lite, not rapey-rape like The Accused.

The 3.5% study claims that 4.3% of women outside of college are raped.

Edit - or 4.6%. I've been drinking so I don't remember.

^Do you mean that 3.5% of female college students are forcibly raped annualy?

Is the 4.3% figure for women who get raped annually, or what?

Of course, by feminist definitions of "rape" almost every straight guy in this forum who has been sexually active is a serial "rapist"!

No, 3.5% of college women are raped in their lifetimes vs 4.3% of non-college women in their lifetimes.

But I've been drinking quite heavily, so don't take my word for it.

It's not like women at all ages have the same risk of rape. As you might expect the risk is highest for young adults.

Yes and no. It’s true that middle-aged women do sometimes get attacked, but according to the National Crime Victimization Survey (2007 data), the rate of attempted or completed rape or sexual assault is:
Age Rate per 1000
16-19 4.9
20-24 5.9
25-34 2.4
35-49 1.8
50-64 0.3
65+ 0.2

What kind of deranged lunatic is raping a 66 year old woman? Even I haven't had any of those as clients. And I have repp'd midget rapists.

I can think of at least three cases in my state in the last 20 years or so. There was a reported decision a few years back where a guy had asked for and gotten DNA tests on a pubic hair in an octogenarian's throat. Turned out to be his hair, but (according to him) that didn't prove he's the one who killed her.

Hey, different strokes for different folks. Paging Conne.

Oh, that's more common than you might think. The manager of an apartment building where I was living was somewhere around that age, and she was raped at knifepoint by a guy posing as a prospective tenant.

Many years ago (around 1958) Los Angeles was terrorized by the "Mad Rubber Ball Strangler" who went around raping and strangling ancient women. He got that sobriquet from the fact that he had been seen on several occasions bouncing a white rubber ball. It was conjectured he might be a boxer since they often squeeze rubber balls to strengthen their hands. As far as I know, he was never captured.

I think we have had a number of other serial rapists who went after old women but I can't be specific about the details.

not that uncommon . rape is a crime of violence, not sex. haven't you heard this before? confused.gif i'm not sure i buy it 100%, but there's got to be some truth to it. too many 70+ victims for the perps all to be conne-types w/ the granny-fetish

In my son's on-campus dorm, there's a big poster on the wall in the entry way, warning students not to rape. It contains a bunch of rather expansive definitions of rape, including:

"If you neg a girl, and then have sex with her, that's rape." (I had to look up "neg", because I'd never heard the term before.)

"If you lie to a girl, and then have sex with her, that's rape."

"If a girl has been drinking, and you have sex with her, that's rape."

"If a girl says no, but you pressure her into saying yes, and then you have sex with her, that's rape."

Rape is what you make it and has been for at least 25 years.

By that definition I never had consensual sex until I was about 25.
