Looks pretty cool. Unfortunate that Tom Cruise is the lead.

not sure what people's hate for TC is. I think he's a great lead actor in these type of movies (oblivion, day and knight, mi4, jack reacher etc).

Jack Reacher looks godawful.

He's just very vanilla. Boring and not a great actor. Vintage Tom Cruise a la Risky Business or Top Gun even Jerry Maguire, sure. None of this newer action stuff, though.

I'd disagree with Jack Reacher just because of the author's repeated descriptions of Jack Reacher's huge size. It would be like casting Elijah Wood as Judge Holden.

Other than that though, Tom Cruise is great in everything he does. He seems like a nutcase off stage, but so are most actors.

Have you seen Valkyrie?

I certainly wouldn't say he's "great" in everything he does, but he's 100% wrong for Reacher (and not just because of the foot difference in height). I'm just not a huge fan of his newer, more serious work.

I'll still see this movie because it looks cool, but for me, I think someone else in this role would be a lot better.

Saw this today- I liked it quite a bit.

It is a good "Sci-Fi/B-Movie" and I don't think it aspires to be more. I'm nostalgic for the sci-fi of the 1950's and enjoy the books of Asimov, Heinlein etc... straightforward stories, not convoluted plot lines. This movie achieves most of that and looks great.
