Pants like Tom Ford

Hey I was wondering if there was any brands that make dress pants similar to Tom Ford. I am not really talking about the fit but more of the build quality. I was looking at a few pairs today and I really liked the weight of the cloth used, the strength of the hardware on the clasps and the way the waist band was constructed. Is there anyone that makes a similar build but with a price tag a little south of $900?

What is your price range? When you say "a little" south are we talking like 2-300, 5-900 etc? Tom Ford pants are made at the Zegna factory so if they fit in your price range I'm sure you can find something along the same build quality as TF. As for cloth used you can probably find similar but not exact as those fabrics are exclusive to them. TBH though i never really though their pants were anything that special.

under 500 would be nice. I don't really find the fit of the TF pants to be very good, however I really do like the hardware used and they heavy fabrics. I am having a hard time finding something similar.

incotex, zegna

I don't know about incotex however, I find nothing special about any of the zegna pants I own.

If you own Zegna pants, you likely know a lot about Incotex. Incotex makes most of Zenga's dress pants. For wool dress pants, Incotex is the ****. Super slim fitting, so I have to go up a size.

Don't know about Tom Ford pants, but I'd like to know some others that come close as well.

Besides the fact that you can find incotex for cheap at daffy's or at least used too i wasn't that impressed with them esp at the 2-500 price mark. The best Feeling (not fitting) OTR pants I've come across have been Kiton, Attolini, and Brioni. The last one is in your price range but their cuts might not be to your liking. What did you not like about the TF cut? Not trying to defend them as I've already said i was never really impressed by their dress pants but just trying to get an idea of what you are looking for. Does the label matter? because if not with your price range you have very wide options and can even consider getting the fabric weight you like and just having it made

Have you browsed EpauletShop? I've ordered a few pairs from there and I have been consistently impressed with the quality of their in-house trousers.

I am a skinny guy 32-33" waste with 34" legs. I found when I tried the pants on the rise was way too long and for the waist it was kind of tight in the seat. I only got to try a 32, maybe I would have more luck with the 33 or a 34 waste taken in.

Also I find it hard to explain the difference, but on TF pants the hardware used is like 2-3 times the amount of metal, and the cloth weight is just heavy giving it a very nice drape. Also I hope better for Canadian winters.

I buy all my Incotex/Zenga as Ebay purchases NWOT for about $120 a pair. At that price they represent a GREAT deal. The material and workmanship is excellent at that price. I would not pay more than about $180 per pair for them though, and that would be for a current season with tags.

If you can find your size I say go with PRL Preston wool pants. They are awesome.
