I began doing real estate as a side project and it's almost turned into a full time job. What started out as getting licensed so that I could benefit from my own home search lead to helping friends and referrals. I agree with the post above in that it's a fun industry where you can meet some really interesting people. Good luck and hope you can take advantage of what seems to be a promising 2013 (at least for residential sales here in southern CA).
